Permanent- Part time Role

The Shopfront, a not-for-profit drop-in and resource centre supporting people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage, is seeking a compassionate and organised Administrator, Shopfront Support to assist with the day-to-day operations of the service. Working within the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable members of the community while supporting the delivery of practical care and support services.

Support the daily operations of The Shopfront, including administration, community services, and the lunch program.

Work collaboratively with volunteers, partner organisations, and community members to ensure services are delivered effectively and respectfully.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase food and essential supplies for daily operations.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of the daily lunch program.
• Work collaboratively with volunteers and arrange volunteer coverage when required.
• Maintain emergency food relief stores and ensure facilities are organised and operational.
• Provide assistance, information, and referrals to visitors accessing Shopfront services.
• Liaise with community service providers and partner organisations.
• Maintain petty cash and assist with budget-conscious purchasing.
• Support the maintenance of facilities, grounds, and gardens.
• Assist in ensuring Work Health and Safety standards are maintained.
• Support Shopfront functions, events, and other operational activities as required.
• Act as coordinator of services and operations in the absence of the Director.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience or background in social welfare, community services, or a related field.
• Experience in food handling and food preparation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with volunteers, service providers, and people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure.
• Valid National Police Clearance.
• Valid WA Working with Children Check.
• Commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and Gospel values.

Desirable:

• Experience working or volunteering within a Catholic organisation.
• Experience with invoices, Microsoft Office and basic financial administration.
