Fr Cyril Axelrod CSsR Visits Perth
Article and photos by Fr R Cross
Fr Cyril Axelrod CSsR is the first ever recorded deaf and blind person to be ordained a priest.
He has been in Perth talking about his vocation and journey to the priesthood.
The central theme of Fr Axelrod's message is "triumph over adversity".
Fr Axelrod visited the Cathedral Presbytery last week for morning tea. He was accompanied by the Emmanuel Centre's Coordinator, Mrs Barbara Harris, and Chaplain Fr Paul Pitzen, as well as others who assisted in signing and translating. Several seminarians from St Charles' Seminary, Guildford, were also present.
