Organisation Details

The lndonesian Catholic Community of Perth (ICCP) is a public association of Christ's faithful of diocesan right canonically erected in 2014 with public juridical personality by the Most Reverend Timothy Costelloe SDB, Archbishop of Perth. This association groups lay Catholics, men and women, who have attained the age of eighteen (18) years complete, on a purely voluntary basis, to lay a firm foundation for unifying, deepening and strengthening the Catholic faith amongst the Catholic lndonesian population of Perth, Western Australia.

Accordingly, members of the ICCP aim to provide: some understanding of the local culture and customs to Catholic lndonesian newcomers to Perth and introduce them to local parishes, maintain an awareness of the lndonesian cultural heritage in the present day and for the sake of future generations; and support the Catholic faith development of lndonesian students studying in Perth, in this way doing their part to evangelise within the wider society of Perth in accordance with the spirit of Christifideles laici, the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of St John Paul ll, on the vocation and mission of the lay faithful in the world of today.
