St Mary’s Cathedral Choir, under the Cathedral’s Director of Music and Principal Organist, Jacinta Jakovcevic, where joined on the Feast of the Assumption by Guest Conductor, Dr Nicholas Bannan and an orchestra of ten, to present a Choral Bouquet for Our Lady. This was the second concert in the 2010 inaugural Concert Series for St Mary’s Cathedral and was attended by around 300 people.

 

The programme included Music from the Royal Fireworks (George Freidric Handel 1685 – 1759), Cantate Domino ( Giovanno Ottavio Pitoni 1657 – 1743), Ave Maria (Jacob Arcadet 1507 – 1568), Ave Regina Caelorum, Assumpta es Maria (Oreste Ravanello 1871 – 1938), Gloria RV589 (Antonio Vivaldi 1678 – 1741) and the Hail Queen of Heaven (John Lingard 1771 – 1851).
