Australian Ambassador to the Holy See Calls on Archbishop

Mr Tim Fischer AC, Australian Ambassador to the Holy See, accompanied by Mr David MacLennan, State Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, visited Archbishop Hickey today to update His Grace on the preparations for the canonization of Blessed Mary MacKillop in Rome on 17 October 2010.

The Archbishop thanked Mr Fischer for his visit and said he looked forward to meeting up with the Ambassador when in Rome for the canonization.

His Grace will be in Rome with many of the Sisters of St Joseph and pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Perth for this historical event in the history of the Catholic Church of Australia.
