Welcome. Recently I got into hot water by saying that even parliament is answerable to a higher authority. I believe that each of us has a duty to find out what is true and false, what is right and wrong, and then to choose what is true and right. When we try to be the authors of what is right and wrong we can never agree. We need to look beyond ourselves to find a moral order that governs our behaviour. I believe that God, and only God, is the source of the moral order that we seek. So all of us, including people in public office, in professions and in the humblest positions must try to live by the highest standards of honesty, truth, compassion, justice and love. I'm Barry Hickey, Catholic Archbishop of Perth.
