We often hear of widespread corruption in poor or developing countries.

Unfortunately, corruption is not unknown here, in Australia.

I ask you this question: How do you maintain your integrity when others around you bend the rules?

In a farewell speech recently a very high profile public servant said that his Christian faith had given him ethical standards that guided both his personal and his public life.

High standards of integrity should be the mark of all our public servants, professional people, and every citizen. Members of Parliament particularly must maintain high standards of honesty and integrity.

One's religious beliefs call for high standards. Take them seriously for the good of our country.

God's peace be with you.
