Marist Brothers of the Schools

Founded by St Marcellin Champagnat in 1817 at Lavalle, France. Introduced to Australia in the Archdiocese of Sydney from St Genis Laval, France, by Brothers Ludovic Laboureyas, Jarlath Finand, Augustinus McDonald and Peter Tennyson in 1872. First WA community established at St Ildephonsus' College, New Norcia in 1912. First community in Perth Archdiocese established at St Paul's High School, Northam in 1948.

There are two provinces in Australia:
Melbourne and Sydney
WA communities are part of the Province of Melbourne.
