Congregation of Christian Brothers

Founded by Blessed Edmund Ignatius Rice in 1802 at Waterford, Ireland. Introduced to Australia in the Diocese of Melbourne from Ireland by Bishop James Goold OSA and Brother Patrick Ambrose Treacy CFC in 1868. First WA community established at Christian Brothers' College, St George's Terrace, Perth in 1894.

There are four Provinces in Australia.
St Mary's Province (NSW, ACT, PNG)
St Francis Xavier Province (NT, OLD)
St Patrick's Province (VIC, TAS, Fiji, East Africa)
Holy Spirit Province (SA, WA)
