Children's Week 
Welcome. We are now in Children’s Week, a time to think about their special needs. Little children are blameless, yet so many of them suffer. They suffer from family breakdown and family violence. They need the love of mum and dad and need to be surrounded by love. The best advice I once saw was a sign that told fathers – "the best gift you can give your children is to love their mother". When we think of children, we must also think of their parents and how they might be helped to sort out their problems. Children's Week can help us make sure that society is kind to families to help parents live the marriage vows they made with joyful and loving hearts. I'm Barry Hickey, Catholic Archbishop of Perth.
