Do you know the origin of Boxing Day? Boxing Day was traditionally a time for boxing up the excess of Christmas and giving it to the poor. It is a spirit Australians can exercise throughout the year. We have more wealth, health, education and freedom than many others. Let us generously seek ways to share these gifts with the poor of the world. I’m Barry Hickey, Catholic Archbishop of Perth.
